International salsa romántica sensation Victor Manuelle has been going at it for over three decades, but there’s still plenty of juice left in his tanks! The Puerto Rican crooner will light up four North American states to commemorate thirty ecstatic years in the music business. Dubbed the “VM30 Anniversary Tour,” the limited run will kick off in Chicago, IL, before heading here at the Mohegan Sun Arena on November 12 for its second outing.
“I still can’t believe that we are already celebrating 30 years of my career! When I grew up in my hometown of Isabela, I just wanted to sing,” Manuelle celebrated in an interview with Billboard.
“Taking the risk of creating new sounds without abandoning the salsa genre is one of the main reasons why I have been able to stay current and has allowed me to reach new generations.”
Victor Manuell, or as his fans call him, El Sonero de la Juventud (The Singer of Youths), is perhaps salsa music’s most passionate frontrunner! Since the early nineties, the singer-songwriter has been topping charts with his romantic boleros and ballads, starting with his debut album Justo A Tiempo in 1993. His latest collection, Lado A Lado B, epitomizes the classic salsa melodies and gives them a modern coat with tropical genre fusions. For his VM30 tour, he will be showcasing such familiar hits, including “Dile a ella,” “Voy a prometerme,” and “No quería engañarte.”
Across his decade-spanning discography, Victor Manuell has ranked no. 1 in the Tropical Albums charts twelve times, broke through the Billboard 200 ten times, and clinched the crown of Latin Airplay three times. Last February, the salsero also received the esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award from the 35th annual Premio Lo Nuestro.
