Formed in 1964, The Who’s original lineup was made up of vocalist Roger Daltrey, guitarist/vocalist Pete Townsend, bassist John Entwistle, and Keith Moon, drummer. Their first single, “I Can’t Explain,” charted in the UK Top 10, and was followed by a series of smash hits including “My Generation,” “Happy Jack,” and “Substitute”. Going on to make major festival appearances and tour extensively whilst releasing albums, their fourth, “Tommy,” the rock opera, was a huge success with critics and audiences alike, charting in the top 5 of both the UK and US Album Charts, and selling 200,000 copies in its first week just in the United States!! Since then, the band went on to one success after another, leave a legacy as one of the most influential bands upon rock music.
Establishing themselves as part of the mod and pop art movements, The Who were in their youth known for their wild onstage antics, including destroying their own instruments and equipment! Today, more than 5 decades on, the band still retain much of the same energy – if they’re a little less of a destructive one. Don’t miss your chance to catch these living legends while you can – book your tickets to see The Who TODAY!!
