They’ve been a massive part of the American musical landscape since 1970, with their iconic vocal harmonies and their fearless embracing of genres ranging from R&B to classic rock, boogie to country, and folk to blue-eyed soul. Whether you are into the funky “Dependin’ On You”, the sand-and-butter singing in the romantically pleading “Minute by Minute”, or the raucous New Orleans-inspired “World Gone Crazy”, it is undeniable: The Doobie Brothers are timeless; they are legends; they are master musicians, and they are still touring, recording, and keeping the hit train running with new music that goes toe-to-toe with the biggest hits of their career.
The Doobie Brothers have a massive catalog that brought them a whole lot of success. They sold nearly 50 million albums globally, and of their 14 studio albums and 6 live albums, three went multi-platinum, seven went platinum, and 14 went gold. They also own a rare diamond record for their 1976 album, “Best of The Doobies”. Six albums appeared in the top ten on the Billboard 200, including the 1978 album, “Minute by Minute”, that also won the band a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group, with one single featured on the album, “What a Fool Believes”, winning three Grammy Awards. The Doobie Brothers were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
Over the 50 years of The Doobie Brothers’ impressive career, their line-up has been ever-evolving. The current line-up comprises main members Patrick Simmons, Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald, and John McFee, and touring musicians John Cowan, Marc Russo, Ed Toth, and Marc Quiñones.
