Squeeze and Boy George are joining forces for a 2024 co-headlining tour across the States this summer. Kicking things off on August 14th in Eugene, Oregon, the co-headlining run will see the eighties favorites performing high energy shows in Oakland, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Austin, Houston, Boston, New York City, Uncasville, and more. British band Squeeze is no stranger to epic tours. In fact, just last year the group toured the U.S. with The Psychedelic Furs. And now, they’re back with all the same awesomeness and more alongside the legendary Boy George.
In 1978, Squeeze burst onto the U.K. music scene at the height of the punk movement. A three track extended play landed the group a deal with major label A&M records, leading to the release of their debut self-titled album. With songwriting hooks and catchy sounds that paid tribute to the rock and pop British Invasion in the mid sixties, the pioneering L.P. featured "Take Me I'm Yours," followed by a slew of hits, such as "Cool for Cats," "Up the Junction," "Pulling Mussels From A Shell," "Black Coffee in Bed," and "Labeled With Love." The group etched their name into U.S. history in 1981 when they dropped their classic hits, "Tempted," "Hourglass," and "853-5937" (from East Side Story). Fast forward to the 2000s, and Squeeze treated listeners to more pop infused earworms, including Spot the Difference (2010), Cradle to the Grave (2015), and The Knowledge (2017). The pop rock outfit is always keeping things fresh. In 2022, Squeeze released the Food for Thought E.P., boasting one incredible new song, two reimagined tunes, and three exclusive live tracks. The seven piece is made up of Glenn Tilbrook (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals), Chris Difford (rhythm guitar, vocals), Stephen Large (keyboards, backing vocals), Simon Hanson (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Steve Smith (percussion, rhythm guitar, vocals), Melvin Duffy (pedal and lap steel guitars, dulcimer), and Owen Biddle (bass, backing vocals).
Also bringing insane skills to the stage is Boy George. As an essential part of the English New Romantic movement, Boy George brought us legendary beats like “Everything I own” and “Electric Energy.” To witness this insane lineup live and in person, book your places today!
