Earlier in the year, Sarah Silverman headlined The Just for Laughs Festival in Vancouver, Canada. Apart from this much-anticipated appearance, the top female comedian kicked off her Grow Some Lips Tour, comprising over 20 dates across North America. The highly-awaited tour is currently adding more dates due to popular demand.
Silverman has always been a prolific actress and performer. She’s also among the most recognizable faces in comedy thanks to her numerous sketch appearances on Saturday Night Live (SNL) and HBO’s sketch comedy series, Mr. Show. During her early days, she played significant roles in independent films, including the cult movie, Who’s the Caboose? The acclaimed comedian also wrote skits for renowned shows comedy shows. After wrapping up her stint with SNL, Silverman signed a deal with Comedy Central to star and produce The Sarah Silverman Program. The hilarious sitcom lasted for three seasons and bagged her a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. In 2008, Silverman appeared in Jimmy Kimmel Live! and performed a song titled “I’m F**king Matt Damon.” The song earned her first Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics.
Silverman also released several notable comedy specials. In 2014, she dropped a comedy special, We Are Miracles, in Funny or Die. The incredible written material from the show won Silverman her second Primetime Emmy Award, this time for Outstanding Writing for A Variety Special. Silverman has always been a political activist. She vocally supported Bernie Sanders and also campaigned for Hilary Clinton in the past. Her passion for politics made her the perfect host for the 2017 late-night Hulu talk show I love You, America with Sarah Silverman.
