Mohegan Sun Arena - CT
Former college football player and current county music star Sam Hunt is going to be headlining an event at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, on Thursday, the 18th of July 2024. Hunt’s as much a storyteller as he is a singer, and people who know his life story know how much those lyrics really hit home. The event promises to be a country music extravaganza, with Russell Dickerson & George Birge also joining Hunt on stage.
Russell Dickerson is going to be the man in charge of making sure the crowd doesn’t get too in their feels. At least not until Hunt takes the stage last at the Mohegan Sun Arena. He’s promoting his new single Good Day to Have a Great Day as he accompanies Hunt on this unnamed tour of multiple US cities.
Meanwhile, George Birge and his Cowboy Songs hope to have people already slow-dancing in the stands and, of course, the standing room next to the stage. Country music fans are going to want to arrive at the arena early on Thursday, the 18th. That’s going to allow them to get a perfect view of the stage if they’re in the standing-room area. If they want to dance, they won’t have to wiggle around to find enough room in the 10,000-seat venue. Get your boots, and your cowboy hat, then click the get tickets button and you’ll be all set!
Hunt is a country singer known for expressing matters of the heart through his lyrics. In recent years, he’s been using his personal struggles to heavily influence his music. While Hunt has not released a full album since 2020s’ Southside, he did put out a four-song EP in April. One of the four songs, Locked Up, references the singer’s recent legal struggles. These four new singles are likely going to be in the lineup in Uncasville come July.
An artist who, as mentioned, regularly sings about heartbreak, Hunt did not pass up the opportunity to shout out his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, in the song. He talks about her sticking by her man after his mistakes. Smith also referenced his issues in the song “Drinkin' Too Much,” where he mentions her by name as well. The new vibes Hunt is putting out there may attract not only the broken-hearted crowd but also those who are looking for reckoning after making mistakes.
Speaking of mistakes, if you’re headed to the event, the Thursday concert can be a great way to kick off a long weekend at the Mohegan Sun Resort. If you’re thinking about hitting the tables and the booze, though, do so with caution. This resort is, without a doubt, one of the premier entertainment hotspots in Connecticut. Taking one or two days off work to catch a country music concert and spend some days at the hotel is a great mid-summer plan.
While it’s not a small arena, the layout that’s likely going to be used for this concert will allow fans to get close to the performers. That can really help create that connection that people rave about from Sam Hunt as an artist. The same goes for George Birge, who is known for his hard-hitting songs. Including Russell Dickerson in the lineup is meant to provide that change of peace that’s going to be well-needed on the night of July 18th. If you plan on attending, be ready to potentially shed some tears. There’s no shame in that; there’s a good chance a couple of good ol boys will be doing the same thing right next to you!
