Rob Thomas, solo singer and song writer and lead singer of Match Box Twenty. Best known for his single 'Smooth' which was recorded alongside Santana. The single 'Smooth' won Thomas 3 Grammy awards including Best song of the year and Best Record of the year, and went triple platinum.

Matchbox Twenty rose to international fame with their debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You (1996), which was certified diamond in the United States and multi-platinum in Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Their second album, Mad Season, released in 2000, charted in the top three on the Billboard 200 and was certified 4× platinum in the United States. Their third album, More Than You Think You Are, released in 2002, was certified double platinum in the United States

Rob Thomas is the first person to win the Starlight Award from the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, the award recognizes young songwriters who have already had a lasting influence in the music industry.

Thomas and wife are also committed animal lovers and supporters of animal charities. Thomas and his wife have established the Sidewalk Angels Foundation, a non-profit organization created to help needy people in and around America’s big cities by partnering with various charities to assist people who cannot afford medical care, and animals that have been abandoned or abused.
