In 1995, Matchbox Twenty (or Matchbox 20 before they renamed it in 2000) was formed in Orlando Florida. Presently, this American pop rock band consists of Rob Thomas as the hot lead vocalist and pianist, Paul Doucete handles the drums, rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Kyle Cook flawlessly deals with lead guitar and backing vocals, Brian Yale plays bass guitar and and Stacy Jones intensified everything with his drums. The group mounted worldwide fame when they released their debut album “Yourself or Someone Like You” in 1996 which turned out as certified diamond in the U.S and multi-platinum in Australia, Canada and New Zealand and in no time produced a number of top 40 hit singles including “PUSH”, “3 AM”, “Real World” and “Back to Good” . Another chart topping album “Mad Season” was released in 2000 which was top three on the Billboard 200 and certified four times platinum in the U.S. The band went on hiatus in 2004 but came flooding back with the release of their retrospective album “Exile on Mainstream” on October 02, 2007. Their most recent album, “North” which was released in September 4, 2012 debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Matchbox Twenty earned a total of 13 nominations from different Associations like Grammy Awards, American Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards, and have won People’s Choice Awards as Favorite Musical Group in 2004. Their songs like “Unwell”, “She’s So Mean”, “Parade”, “Overjoyed” and several others are loved by the listeners as it tells common stories of an ordinary human in a very special way.
