Formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1999, Kings of Leon is a family band comprised of brothers Caleb Followill, frontman/guitarist, Nathan Followill, drummer, and Jared Followill, bassist, and their cousin Matthew Followill, lead guitarist. With their early sound being that of blues and Southern rock, they gradually expanded their style to suit their increasing fanbase, adopting a variety of genres and above all an arena style rock sound. Achieving initial success in the UK, with 9 top 40 singles, all albums peaking in the top 5, and the winners of two Brit Awards, it was their fourth album, “Only by the Night,” in 2008 that gained them recognition in the US and worldwide. The extremely well-known singles “Use Somebody,” “Notion,” and “Sex on Fire” each hit number one on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart, with “Sex on Fire,” charting at number one on the overall charts in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand!
