Greta Van Fleet at Mohegan Sun Arena

If you’re not familiar with Greta Van Fleet and you happen to come across their music, you’d think ‘70s rock era, probably Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Black Sabbath, etc. Nope, what you’re hearing is from this era – performed by men in their early 20s. That’s right. This quartet composed of twins Josh and Jake Kiszka, Sam Kiszka, and Danny Wagner are clearly heavily influenced by the classic rock from four decades ago. Some even say that singer Josh Kiszka channels Robert Plant during his performances.

Although young, this group performs and sounds like a veteran rock band that has toured for years. In 2017, the band released their EP From the Fires, which later earned them a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. They were also nominated for Best New Artist, Best Rock Performance, and Best Rock Song.

One year later, the band released their full debut album, Anthem of the Peaceful Army. The album debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 1 on the US Top Hard Rock Albums chart. Anthem of the Peaceful Army features singles “When The Curtain Falls,” “Lover, Leaver (Taker, Believer),” and “You’re the One.” Indeed, their debut album performed remarkably in the charts, but it was their 2017 works that earned them the most recognition.

For their 2022 tour, the band will be promoting their 2021 album, The Battle at Garden’s Gate. The record debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 1 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
