Melodic alt-metallers Deftones will be hitting the road this coming spring, getting themselves back on stage with a bang after their tour was postponed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The band, who have been performing together for over 30 years and received rave reviews for their 2020 album Ohms, are an exceptional live act whose moody, atmospheric music takes your breath away! They'll be joined by French heavy metal band Gojira and experimental industrial pop artist Poppy!
Hailing from Sacremento, California, Deftones is an alternative metal band that was formed in 1988 by Chino Moreno (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Stephen Carpenter (lead guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums), and Dominic Garcia (bass). After several line-up changes over the next five years, the band was signed to Maverick Records in 1993 and released its debut album, Adrenaline, two years later. Their 1997 follow-up, Around the Fur, reached the Top 30 of the Billboard 200 and launched the singles "My Own Summer (Shove It)" and "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)," eventually gaining platinum certification from the RIAA in 2011. However, it was 2000’s White Pony that brought the group mainstream success, hitting number three on the Billboard 200, and launching two successful singles ("Change (In the House of Flies)" and "Back to School (Mini Maggit)"), the promotional single "Digital Bath," and the Grammy Award-winning track "Elite". The band’s ninth and most recent album, Ohms, was released in 2020 to significant critical acclaim, reaching number 5 on the Billboard 200 and topping the US Hard Rock Albums chart, as well as hitting the top three on the Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts.
