Connecticut Sun vs. San Antonio Silver Stars at Mohegan Sun Arena

Mark this day –The Sun and the Stars shall collide on the 14th of July 2013, and will create a vast explosion of thrill and excitement all over Uncasville, Connecticut.  Women power shall rule and rock the Mohegan Sun Arena, as two formidable WNBA teams will go head-to-head on the hard court.   The Connecticut Suns vs the San Antonio Silver Stars — who shall rule this women’s basketball universe?  Be there as the impact happens. Game begins at 5:00 pm.

The team Connecticut Sun is based in  Uncasville, Connecticut, and is owned by the  Mohegan Indian Tribe.  The Sun takes pride that they are the only team (apart from the defunct Miami Sol) to have less than 20 losses in a season.  The Sun has had notable set of distinguished players –the late 7-foot-2 Margo Dydek, Indiana native Katie Douglas, veteran sharpshooter Kara Lawson, University of Connecticut icons Asjha Jones and Nykesha Sales, 2008 MVP runner-up point guard Lindsay Whalen and 2012 MVP recipient Tina Charles.

San Antonio Texas’ pride and joy — the San Antonio Silver Stars, a professional basketball league playing at the  Western Conference of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).  The team was inaugurated in 1997, originally in Salt Lake City, Utah, then moved to San Antonio, Texas before the start of the 2003 season.   All-star point guard Becky Hammon, solid power-forward Sophia Young, former first-overall draft pick Ann Wauters, and seven-foot-two-inch center Margo Dydek — are just some of the star players that carried the banner of the Silver Star.
