It’s another face-off game between the Connecticut Suns vs. the Atlanta Dream.  Two of WNBA’s brightest star players from both teams are going on a head-on collision.  Tina Charles of the Sun and Angel McCoughtry of the Dream, both have have bagged the last two year’s Rookie of the Year Awards.  Will the Sun’s homecourt advantage give them the edge, energy and power for the win?  Or will the Dream’s vision and determination give them the stamina to rule and conquer?  Find out on August 14, 2013 at the Mohegan Sun Arena – CT,  Uncasville, Connecticut.  Game starts at 7:00 pm.

 

 

The team Connecticut Sun is based in  Uncasville, Connecticut, and is owned by the  Mohegan Indian Tribe.  The Sun takes pride that they are the only team (apart from the defunct Miami Sol) to have less than 20 losses in a season.  The Sun has had notable set of distinguished players –the late 7-foot-2 Margo Dydek, Indiana native Katie Douglas, veteran sharpshooter Kara Lawson, University of Connecticut icons Asjha Jones and Nykesha Sales, 2008 MVP runner-up point guard Lindsay Whalen and 2012 MVP recipient Tina Charles.

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, the Dream has been playing in the  the Eastern Conference in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) since 2008.  It’s high-prized players include  University of Louisville standout Angel McCoughtry, former Finals MVP Betty Lennox, andBrazilian sharpshooter Izi Castro Marques.   The Dreams have reached the WNBA Finals twice, and reached the WNBA playoffs three times out of its four year existence.
