Awarded as the 2021 CMA Entertainer of the Year, Luke Combs is undoubtedly one of the new country superstars in this generation. He started his career in Nashville in 2014 by releasing his debut EP, "The Way She Rides." With its successful entry into the world of country, Luke immediately followed it with his second EP, "Can I Get An Outlaw," in 2015.
In 2016, Combs' first single, "Hurricane," sold 15,000 copies in its first week and debuted at number 46 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. His third EP, entitled "This One's for You," was released in November 2015. His songs did well on the charts and found constant airplay on country radios. In that same year, he was named one of Sounds Like Nashville's "Artists to Watch." The said title would have foreshadowed Combs's prolific career in the coming years.
He released his debut album, "This One's for You," in 2017, and it climbed the charts –– notably 4th on the Billboard 200. His second album, "What You See Is What You Get," released in 2019, gained the same critical and commercial success. It even topped the charts in multiple territories. Thus, he slowly became a household name in the country music scene. Combs also landed on Billboard's list of highest-paid musicians of 2019 and closed out the year with the best streaming numbers of the genre, a whopping 3.2 billion overall streams.
His third album, "Growing Up," is expected to be released in June. This year, the country star will embark on his "The Middle of Somewhere Tour." This is a limited concert tour for Combs, who will kick things off this September. The trek will have nine stops featuring back-to-back shows in each city, including Connecticut's Mohegan Sun Arena, this November 4 and 5. Country music artists Jordan Davis and Lainey Wilson will join Combs for this two-night event. Grab your tickets here so that you won't miss their performances. See you there!
