American record producer, radio personality, DJ, record label executive, and author DJ Khaled began his career as a radio DJ on  Miami-based urban music radio station WEDR in the 1990s, and was a champion of several rappers who went on to become household names,  including Birdman, Lil Wayne, and Mavado. He was also DJ for the hiphop collective Terror Squad, producing their 2004 album True Story. Khaled's 2006 debut album Listennn… the Album was released by Koch Records, launching at number 12 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Three years after the release of his debut album, with another two successful LPs under his belt, Khaled became the president of record label Def Jam South, as well as the CEO and founder of We the Best Music Group. His tenth studio album, Grateful, was released in June 2017.
